Dr. Elaine Sanders-Bush
Professor; Director, Vanderbilt Brain Institute/Neuroscience Graduate Program & Administration
Dr. Sanders-Bush studies the function and regulation of serotonin receptors in the brain, focusing on the function, structure, and regulation of two specific serotonin receptors, 5HT2F and 5HT2C. She also studies the relationship between serotonin receptors and hallucinogenic drugs, like LSD, in an effort to determine the neuronal mechanisms and brain circuitry that mediate the action of these drugs.
